An Enlightened Person Is an Observer (III)

Science seeks the origins of everything, to discover what the smallest thing is. At the deepest level, we can therefore see the relationship between science and spirituality.

Science too is a path in search of truth. Spirituality is also the path of truth. Science does not deny spirituality, but approaches it. That is correct understanding.

——-

In the past, scientists believed the “atom” was the smallest unit. But when they looked deeper, they found something even smaller than an atom: the “subatomic” realm – a new universe, the quantum universe. It consists of particles, a great many particles.

Going deeper, researchers discovered that “subatomic” is not the smallest. In truth, something resembles a “vibrating string.” Different vibrational frequencies create different particles, like different strings of an instrument producing different sounds when plucked. At the deepest level, everything in this universe is made of “vibration.”

Our bodies are also made of vibrations. We think everything is solid, but the truth is otherwise. When meditation is deep enough, upon emerging from it we can see that the things around us are made of continuous vibrations. When looking at other people, you can see this too. In truth, this universe is an illusion, and we respect illusions.

Vibration is like a wave. When you study physics, you understand that it is both a wave and a particle.

Interestingly, scientists discovered that whenever they observed them, they were particles, but when they did not observe them, they were waves! How should this be explained? Through spiritual practice, you will find this extremely easy to understand – through the role of the observer.

Do things around us truly exist when we do not observe them?

According to that explanation, surrounding things exist because someone continually observes them. Could an observer be watching the entire universe to hold together all matter, planets, and asteroids? That is where science approaches spirituality.

In fact, science is also a step closer to truth. Scientists are deeply spiritual too. They have used many instruments to investigate everything in this world. And the discovery closest to spirituality is “string theory”. It is also about vibration.

There was someone who, through meditation and observing the body and mind, observed subquantum entities. They are vibrations, and we are a combination of many vibrations. That person was the Buddha, a beautiful observer who was no longer manipulated.

Observation + Reflection = Wisdom

Wisdom is not “knowledge”; it arises as we investigate and move closer to the truth. We understand how the universe operates and the law of cause and effect. Applying this to life, we also understand that the flow of history is the flow of cause and effect. To prevent history from continuing to repeat itself, we must learn its lesson; that is the purpose of studying history. With wisdom, we become free from “karma.” This is the beauty of freedom, the beauty of the observer.

Science and spirituality are both paths in search of truth

What Is the Path of Seeking Truth?

There is something wonderful the Buddha left us. He did not create truths; he discovered them and passed them on to us – the path of freedom, the path of truth.

Now that we understand the universe’s workings better, should we focus on events or responses? Events cannot be controlled, but the mind’s responses can. That is the key to freedom from suffering.

By observing from body to mind, you begin identifying bodily sensations, then observing the mind's emotions. When you observe without reacting, you have begun transforming karma.

You can accelerate your evolution, continually awakening to lessons to evolve further spiritually.

You can begin when you are ready. Give yourself the opportunity to start with Awakening Meditation – to transform and balance karma, continually awaken to each lesson, and evolve toward the light and the truth.
