Healing — Is Living in the Present Enough?

What pains do you carry?

We are alike as souls wrapped in different bodies. Physical suffering is usually easier to recognize. Mental wounds are rarely recognized and hardly attended to. But when mental pain grows great, we collapse.

It may be betrayal in marriage, or the loss of someone we love. It may also be sexual abuse or psychological manipulation… These are wounds that need healing.

When we begin the journey of awakening, we truly touch deep pain we may never have recognized.

Awakening Meditation there are companion alongside you on this awakening journey. The universe is generous and sends the companion you need. Trust that our meeting is not accidental. Likewise, the journey of healing and awakening need companions to feel grounded and confident in the path we walk.

Healing the pain within you

To truly move toward a balanced, prosperous, peaceful life, we need to return to heal our wounds and revisit our memories so that we can move forward.

1. Healing old patterns

When we carry too much pain, especially physical pain, we find many reasons for old patterns to keep operating. We say we are ill, so how can we meditate? We say we lack money, so where is the time? All of these – merely excuses for procrastination and justifications for the ego within. We are not poor because we spend too little time earning money, but because we have not felt inner abundance and therefore always feel we lack something.

We need to quiet the mind to recognize old patterns through spiritual symbols. Because integrity is always within us. We simply need to look honestly at what is in our lives.

2. Stop creating new karma

Old patterns will still operate initially. Give your mind time. Like a train needing to begin braking well before stopping, you cannot convince yourself that a few practices will transform your mind. Observation can stop reactions. At first, it may not be deep, but gradually you become familiar with it and find it interesting to notice your mind beginning to react and… about to create karma!

Begin to remember…

Yesterday, you became angry. You returned exhausted from work to a messy house and your husband lying on the sofa. You cleaned noisily and were still too upset to eat at dinner.

Today, when you return home, you see the exact same scene as yesterday, but you no longer react angrily. You think that even without your husband, you would still have to cook.

So instead of remaining silently irritated, you ask him to help clear the table, and he happily does. Over the following days, you gradually ask him to wash the vegetables, put the rice on… You will see: the same husband, the same cooking situation, but you are no longer doing it resentfully.

That is a very small example of what you can practice to stop old karma and thereby stop creating the same old results.

Stop stirring the glass and making the water cloudier.

Use meditation as an anchor so that whenever an old karmic pattern arises, we immediately recognize it and stop. Our stopping signals to the mind—the monkey—that it can no longer lead us running and jumping around. When we make it stop repeatedly, that ‘monkey’ will have to obey us.

The observer’s position is the position of an awakened person. When observing, we acknowledge what is happening to us, and our minds are balanced and clearly aware.

3. Return to vcultivate quality

When we return to working with ourselves, we receive messages from the Inner Teacher – guidance from the higher self. We do not know what we do not know. We believe only within the limits of what we see, and assume what we cannot see does not exist. Can we see air? Yet it exists.

Healing to see the noble essence within yourself

What appears outside reflects what we nurture within. The things we do not attend to lie dormant. At some point, we begin to return and cultivate them. That is the difference between a spiritual journey and the journey of making a living.

When we return to practice and recognize completeness within ourselves – completeness of qualities.

When you practice developing good inner qualities, you will have your own experiences. The universe will continually send spiritual signs in symbolic language, through many people and situations. For example, you might see someone drop something on the street, pick it up, and return it. That too may be a sign. The universe will also send you a teacher: the teacher within you.

Whatever we focus on grows. Prosperity in our qualities will help us prosper in every area of this life.

4. Spreading outward

There are many ways to spread the message. We need not do something grand. We can only share what we have and inspire belief through our own living example – ourselves. Serving what we believe is also a way of spreading it.

We cannot teach others to live happily if we are not truly happy ourselves. No one will believe our “tips” for success if we have not truly succeeded. We spread our message through direct experience and results. This means we should keep practicing and strengthening right beliefs. When practice is effective through wise attention, the universe will bring us fulfillment.

With the right intention and belief in your unlimited potential, you can become an enlightened person.

A change in thinking will help you develop a balanced, prosperous consciousness. A learning-oriented mindset will help you live peacefully.

Do not ignore the guidance the universe sends. A balanced, prosperous, peaceful life is the moment you recognize and complete your life’s lesson.

May you remain steady on the journey of healing yourself.

With love and light.
